Chow Down

Chowder may be a dish more associated with the Northeast, but this January, visitors to New Smyrna Beach can take part in the 26th Annual Chowder Festival, a beloved New Smyrna Beach tradition. On January 31st, the festival, located on Flagler Avenue, just steps from our New Smyrna Beach hotel, will be offering up dozens of different chowders in a chowder cook-off that will take up the whole length of the avenue, as well as live music and entertainment. Visitors can purchase a "passport" that allows them to sample all the competitors in the festival. Ticket proceeds will be benefitting the Florida Sherriff’s Youth Camp, so it’s a win-win: you get a day of fun and delicious chowder, and you get to do a good deed too.
