The New Smyrna Beach Farmers Market

For nearly three decades now, the New Smyrna Beach Farmers Market has provided fresh, organic edibles to the New Smyrna Beach community. “The goal,” as the market’s organizers put it, “is not to create a place where you can buy food. The goal is to create a place where, whenever possible, you can buy food from the person that grew, caught, made, collected or otherwise fostered its creation.” Among the many delicious items for sale are locally farmed fruits and vegetables, meats, eggs, dairy, flowers, herbs, and coffee, plus an assortment of baked goods. Area artists and artisans also set up shop at the market, dealing in everything from metal art to handmade soap, from hand-dipped candles to garden decor, from beauty creams to watercolor paintings. Stop by Saturdays from 7 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., rain or shine.
